Senior Software Engineer

We’re looking for a Software Engineer to make Properati the product that will change the way people find their new home. Our vision is to be Latam’s best real estate platform.

You’ll be part of Properati’s engineering team, focusing on the website, improving and creating new functions to improve the experience of our users but keeping in mind the site performance and scalability.

We develop from Argentina and our platform is used all across Latin America.

What are we looking for?

• A person that wants to work with a team (in human and technological terms: code reviews, pair programming, etc.)
• The company uses various programming languages (such as PHP, Javascript, Java, Scala, Kotlin, Go, etc.), but we welcome developers with different programming backgrounds if you’re open to learn and expand your tech stack. This team in particular works with Golang, Ruby, React and Typescript.
• Some experience or interest in working with microservices
• Experience or interest in working with agile development (for realsies!): We try to apply its values and principles, as well as XP practices (lean mindset, continuous integration, pair programming, mob programming)
• Someone interested in bringing up their vision (as well as listening to the vision of other people) in discussions about product
• Strong skills in OOP or Functional Programming.
• Someone that loves solving problems in any scale and is proactive on their day-to-day
• We’re also interested in - but it’s not required:

• Kubernetes + Docker
• Google Cloud Platform
• Interest on performance and accessibility
• Experience with evolutionary design & architectures
• DevOps mindset (experience not required, just familiar with the culture)
• Interest on the full stack (or at least to not be scared to touch code anywhere in the stack!)

• Asado, baking or bartender skills are welcome

How will you day look like?

• Being a solid contributor in the web site development team
• Be a part of talks and team decisions: from contributions to the product and the user interface to application architecture
• Implementing the product designed with the team, keeping in mind the business needs, performance and scalability requirements
• Sharing knowledge and suggesting new technologies, tools and good development practices
• Create reusable components or services to be used by the whole company on their products
• Work in an agile, flexible and fast-paced environment
• Identify improvement opportunities - on the product and the code as well – and propose plans to make them happen
